The big band with tubas and trombones
Coloured, blown and trumpeted jazz Thirty horn musicians, directed by Michel Massot.
Fanfare or group, it depends, this unique project in its genre brings together a majority of tuba players, trombonists and sousaphone players but also trumpeters, flautists and percussionists, professional and amateur.
This joyful band plays compositions by Michel Massot and oscillates between jazz, world music, polka and other burlesque music difficult to describe but always festive and coloured.
U to now, Babelouze has 2 self-produced CDs.
Their first album with 16 tracks recorded in the L theatre came out in 2010. This recording was the result of the participation of this big band of tubas and trombones in the “Un éléphant dans la Ville” project in Liege in 2009. The trumpeter Laurent Blondiau appears in two numbers.
In April 2015, their second CD, ‘Pavane de l’âne fou’ came out.
